Have you ever noticed the mysterious hand markings on the rocks of Melukote?
While many visitors make their way to the Varanandammana Temple in Melukote, an unusual discovery awaits just beside the steps leading up to the shrine.
Tucked within a nearby rock shelter are what appear to be numerous human hand paintings, faintly visible to the naked eye. These intriguing markings caught our attention during an exploration of the site. Upon enhancing the photographs, we were able to identify several more impressions that were otherwise difficult to distinguish.
This marks a new reporting of the site by @projectskaat. The discovery has been brought to the attention of the concerned authorities, and further investigation is expected to shed more light on these fascinating markings.
Could these hand impressions offer clues to the area’s lesser-known past? Their origin, age, and significance remain to be investigated.
Sometimes, remarkable traces of history lie hidden in plain sight, right beside places we have visited countless times. All it takes is a closer look to uncover something extraordinary.
