Bengaluru, August 20, 2025 — Karnataka’s Hon’ble Chief Minister Siddaramaiah inaugurated a landmark photo exhibition that brings to light the prehistoric landscapes of Hirebenakal, a site dating back nearly 3,000 years. The opening ceremony at the Banquet Hall of Vidhana Soudha was attended by cabinet ministers H. K. Patil and Lakshmi Ravindra Hebbalkar, alongside photographers, historians, and art enthusiasts. Eminent historians Dr K B Shivatarak and Dr Srikumar Menon were also present with Project SKaAT members . The exhibition was printed and installed by well known designer U T Suresh from Flowergraffic, Bengaluru. All the photos are shot by SKaAT team during the 5 day extensive hiking in Hirebenakal hills. SKaAT also Curated the exhibition which showcases over 60 powerful artistic monuments of dolmens, rock art, and hidden rock shelters from Hirebenakal — a site currently on UNESCO’s tentative World Heritage list.
